I'm glad deisman03 posted above nycb, only because last year svb somehow dragged down all American and Canadian banks.  The contagion didn't take off this time.....

This year is different because its an election year.  The last thing the Dems want is to see a financial crises ruin their hopes of being relected.  They will do everything in their power to keep a lid on any domestic crises.  I would think that also applies to keeping interest rates down.  Remember how last year Biden raided the strategic oil reserve to keep gas prices down. & ...more

This comment is ridiculous and tainted with blind hatred for Democrats. You do realize who came to NYCB's rescue right?... none other than Steve Mnuchin who was Trump's former Secretary of the Treasury. If the Republicans wanted to sink the Dems they wouldn't be trying to stop a bank crises under Biden's watch just months before the election.

You misinterpreted my post completely.  I don't hate the democrats at all but I do  observe keenly how politics work.  One would have to be quite blind not to see that and it is unbiased to either party.  Good for Munchin stepping in and I'm sure the Democrats were breathing a sigh of relief.  If he hadn't I'm sure they would have so temper your criticism.  ...more
