TD earnings not a good start for CAD banks..

Today TD is down about  2.8 % and the rest of the CAD banks arent up much, mostly flat.
Lifecos continue to surge higher..

Well, how about Scotia trading today lower than it was trading 10 years ago? Apparently Canadian banks are not as solid as one might think.

Appx fifteen years ago, Scotiabank decided it would start investing heavily in South America.  At first, it looked like a good idea. I don't believe they knew what they were up against.  They've been in steady decline or on a sideways tangeant ever since.  However that hasn't stopped them from paying dividends.  Scotia recently started selling off their South ...more

Now Scotia is also moving to US, they bought 15% of KeyCorp. Some people don't think it a good idea, even "at first".
