Critical thinking 101 for resilience…Charlie lake

Instead of bound pumping or looking at presentations have you ever considered a convo on the why...

Like why did tourmaline not bid higher than 25m Bne paid for Charlie lake package archer sold in bonanza? Makes sense for archer to sell...small private company that probably risk adverse to bank debt and could use that 25m to drill on their cl rights closer to grande prairie.
think archer got all of this from buying ridgeback northern Alberta stuff and Saturn oil got rest of ridgeback.

I am sure Bne would know ridgebacks assets well as they were marketed with open data room but at time Bne wouldn't be able to buy all of ridgebacks northern assets versus archer.
Archer management team has bought and flipped many times, very smart and can find capital due to track record.

Bne probably started buying crown land in bonzana as it doesn't take a genius to see archer is only has manpower to develop one area and laglace has more run room.

Those bonzana area wells are going to be serviced by operators in acreages or spirit river. Most of tou cl would be in spirit river or farms near there.

tourmaline could have passed because Bne needs undrilled land in order to buy tou spirit river assets.

How Bne may have a remote shot of funding a buy of tou spirit river assets would be selling a royalty to topaz on bonanza and new cl wells on tou cl assets.  This is how tamarack has bought assets before. Tou is related to topaz so likely would want them involved.

if Bne management must know about tou cl assets as it be one of the few light oil fields for sale with new wells..ei post 2012 pads...and rumour mill is it has been for sale for awhile, it just doesn't make sense to many companies that have capital and opportunities out there right now.

Attractive thing about tou a assets is even if wells are older and lower producing...the lease sites are so first class done you can drill for other zones using that lease. Tou has pipes for everything there to lower trucking

Like 14 percent of all wells drilled in whole wcsb basin since 2023 are on topaz royalty lands. They are getting to be a beast in size and will be up to more deals been quiet. Like a kingmaker. Topaz wouldn't be a kingmaker in cardium as royalty are higher return on land that gets lots of new drills, hence topaz focus on Clearwater and montney.   'what would 5 percent royalt ...more

Again a red herring. Who cares why tou didn't buy something? Might be because it takes billion dollar acquisitions to move the needle there. Maybe they know the archer guys at BNE.  a pointless comment.
