BNS lets make a deal

Not sure what was on the CEO mind, but I bet he regrets it now after the market speaking.
Since he took over the reins, the stock value did very little.

angeln - actually the stock has done a lot since the new CEO took over, it droped from the miid 80s to 60 bucks. I sold ALL my BNS when they announced a non-Banker as CEO. Thanks goodness I did.

Mr Edmonton, I usually just read here and don't comment but I must correct you. Your post gives the distinct factual impression that the share price dropped from the mid 80s into the 60s under the current new CEO. That is factually inaccurate. The stock was last in the 80s under the prior CEO Brian J. Porter Who retired in January 2023. Any available public stock chart shows that the share ...more

If you are going to be accurate read this. Sept 19, 2022 the shares were at $73. With this announcement, Scotiabank's Board of Directors has appointed Scott Thomson as CEO of Scotiabank, effective February 1, 2023. Mr. Thomson is ...more

I was merely correcting the factual record for the benefit of the forum here. I'm familiar with all the press releases of this company. I don't see the point you're trying to establish. The stock has largely been in the low to mid 60s under the new CEO, And this was pretty much the level it was at when he took over in January 2023. They had an investor day and clearly articulated their ...more

i added shares @ $61 too.  but why sell now?  do you see a trend reversal from the current (weak) uptrend?  seems like top of the current channel is ~$64
Comment by Mirko22 on Aug 17, 2024 7:43am

L. Scott Thomson was an Invesmnt Banker with Goldman Sachs for approximately five years to all those who complain that they didn't hire a banker to run the show.
