This and that

Considering that I grew up in the 60s, I can't remember a time when our air quality, and water were as pristine as now. I can very well remember the sad state of affairs concerning our creeks, rivers and lakes back then. The air quality was very poor as well.
Industry has done a remarkable job of cleaning things up, and yes I am an environment freak.
Let's put some things into perspective:
Prehistoric analysis has indicated that CO2 levels were far higher then.......approaching 4%,  O2 levels exceeded 20%, we now run about 16%. Vegetation was abundant, and animal life thrived. Prehistoric excavation has proven that land based dinosaurs roamed areas that theoretically should have been submerged.
With precipitators, particulate matter from smoke stacks has been largely eliminated.
It's suspicious and sinister that the only material not greatly eliminated with current technology is CO2 emissions which the powers that be then designated as a pollutant.

The entire CO2 narrative is a hoax designed to scare the misinformed, and put Western life back into the stoneage. Tho promised, we would see New York City under 20 feet of water by 2015, to date levels haven't risen 1 mm.  In fact ice is building at both poles, and sun spot activity indicates that we are indeed going to get much colder over the next 40-60 years.
When ever someone mentions a high temperature 100 year record, I reply that I didn't know we had globull warming back then.
Yes I do own Bte, lots of it, simply because of the prevailing idiotic policies that will drive oil prices to the moon.
Best longs, and rest assured the CO2 levels is a non event, except in the ability to propel Bte, and other oil stocks far higher.
My opinion only

Nice read. I also read that co2 level actually need to be higher, to reach optimum levels for plant growth. Cheers.

Indeed GoodLife, Many of the "woke crowd", don't appreciate the symbiotic relationship that we animals enjoy with our plant friends. We need to raise more beef, plant larger gardens and grow bigger families ;) Best S

One point you missed there surething1111 , if we made more beer think of all the CO2 we could sequester as effervescence in those bottles/cans and kegs . Talk about a "symbiotic relationship" , lol !!!!

Top, True dat, I'll add drink more beer to my list CO2 in, and methane out..........what could possibly go wrong?  Lol S

OK , check my math surething ...... CO2 in CH4 (Methane) out  CH4 - CO2 = H2O , that sounds friendly , lol

I will only add the following. It seems like it was just yesterday my son working on a science project back in grade school in the 70's. He did an entire presentation on what was called "Acid Rain". Your posts brougfht back these very old memories (hey the hard drive in my skull still has this stuff) Anyhow this proves a couple things.. 1. Maybe my memory isn't as bad as my ...more

My cranial hard drive is also functioning remarkably well, Wolf. In the 70's while on a trip to New York, I can recall seeing grafitti on the side of a building stating: Acid Rain is Ruining My Grafitti".   Makes me think I should now paint my grain bins with: "Anthropologic CO2 is improving my crop yields"

If I remember correctly Wolf I believe the culprit was sulphur which once burned and airborne cause a mild version of Sulphuric Acid , hence the "Acid rain" . But that is purely from memory
Comment by topdown99 on Apr 27, 2022 3:15pm
To be clear on that point , it was the sulphurous emissions that combined with moisture in the atmosphere to formulate the acid rain . That is where the crackdown on sulphur in fuels originated and only shows that any problem can be resolved with cooperation and constructive dialogue
