With the inherent volatility in Oil stocks thought I'd throw it out here to see what strategies are investors adopting, not just specific to Baytex but the sector as a whole? Thanks!

With the kinds of returns we have had this year and the world so close to max chaos, slowly selling into strength is a winner , build cash for the next sell off they ALWAYS come. Guys around here last June lots hundreds of thousands on paper and are still 25% from getting it back. People who sold SOME into strength and bought the dips are up. Selling into strength is hard to do greed and all FOMO, ...more

Ahh,  in theory unloading into strength seems like a reasonable strategy.  It all  depends on which game you are playing.   If its the short game,  fine but if its the  long game then your perspective is quite differrent.  E.g,  if you bought low and have accumulated a very large position which makes sense because the price was so low, then selling out on ...more

Well said. As many of you know, I've owned BTE since 2015 and added over the years, the majority when I was down 75% in April, 2020. So my cost base is jsut under $0.50. Nuttall was in at the ...more

Main reason i do it because the oil markets always turn at some point, what will it be this time? Right sweeping to power around the globe is my bet today drill baby drill or China implodes. One of these days it wont bounce back for years again and i will have raised cash again near the highs , thank god Opec cut, too much oil and the trend was down. For everyone asking me for a private forum i ...more

Main reason you do what??? Your wrong easily as much as you are right. But maybe i am wrong and you are a billionaire and you are just being SO kind to give us your expert opinion. I remember not all that long ago how sure you were that oil market was going down till spring and a different time you told some guy that his opiniom was totally wrong , something about a death cross( guess you got that ...more

I don't know Cobalt. Why is it that you stock flipping types are always announcing "the right thing to do" after the data is already in? How come you can't predict the right thing to do? You are right when you said some guys here are down a lot since June. I am. On this and other mid cap plays. Am I worried about that? No. You can play with the Ouija boards all you like ...more
