Naked short selling

Oner correction:  Canada made naked short selling illegal a year ago.

It is almost impossible to prevent short selling in Canada, shorters must "have a reasonable expectation that sufficient securities will be available to cover the settlement of a short sale trade prior to entering a short sale order". Almost impossible for a securities commision to enforce.
