Acquisition Target MRG.un

Seeing CapReit has held up fairly decent in the reit space they should be looking to acquire a beat up name such as MRG.un Morguard North American Residential. 
The best way to pay for the acquisition would be with an equity offering.
The synergies would be phenomenal. Mrg.un is severally undervalued and are making it easier for them to be acquired by buyback their stock, low debt, low payout ratio and a NAV of around $36.00/share trading at around $15!. 
This would put capreit onto another level.

  I would guess that the chances of somebody taking MRG over are virtually nil for a variety of reasons. First, MRC has a large part of MRG which it would not want to part with as apartments are the most stable class in a recession. Secondly, CAR is presently deciding the path forward with its’ controlling position in ERE. Thirdly, the 9.5% deb offering by MRC tells us how unpopular real ...more
