Calfrac Investor Relations

Would not hurt for everyone to call or email Calfrac Investor relations.  They should acknowledge the fact that their share price has barely budged since the re-finance and that they should update shareholders in some format on updates about Russia and what they are doing to drive shareholder value.  Do not want every other O&G company and stock to make 200-500% gains and CFW left with nothing.  The current price is well below what Wilks was going to pay previous shareholders at 17 cents per share when youy factor in the 50/1 split.  CFW worked hard to promote the re-finance as the best deal for shareholders. Whether you were existing or a new shareholder, a nudge to management and investor relations is warranted.

I am still very bullish on this. But the lack of movement is concerning when all other stocks are launching and commodity prices are near record levels.

Agree for the call but less about being bullish on this steaming turd. I was in support for them over the wilks bros. fiasco but this is ridiculous. Trican has bounced back decently. This thing is a dumster fire. It's probably hands off for any significant investment and maybe proper bankruptcy is it's fate. At least I can write off the loss. Waiting years for this company to do nothing is ...more

Scott Treadwell left Calfrac, the former IR boss. He is now working at an organic food place. The company is in the hands of a non-technical self described wheeler and dealer. I wouldn't invest in Calfrac under the current circumstances. I heard they also had serious maintenance defects which require substantial reactivations.   Better join our camp in STEP Energy.

EstevanOutsider, What would need to change for you in order to buy stock in Calfrac. A risk discount is already priced into this stock at this market cap. Their global leverage in Canada, the USA, and Argentina is attractive in the current O&G climate.  Maybe they sell off a division and change management around and this stock would fly ? At this point, they could do anything positive ...more

I agree with EstevanOutsider that Step is a great company. I actually bought into Step just over a month ago and am up 60%.  If you look at their earnings, balance sheet, ESG program and Tier 4 equipment and just listen to their ER recording it is clear that they have a VERY strong leadership team.  I plan to hold STEP until the 9-10 dollar range minimal. HOWEVER.. my biggest holding is ...more

Good post. But, what metrics are you using to define Calfrac as "undervalued?"
Comment by EstevanOutsider on Apr 17, 2022 1:02am
Not sure really. I'd need to have a positive view of the management/company which I don't. I perceive the management as in it for themselves and willing to put themselves first over employees or shareholders.  I don't wan't exposure to Argentina or Russia.  I think the risk is Calfrac continues to lose money or unable to pay their loans. My understanding is much of ...more

I have to agree with you in regards to the equipment. The word on the street is the fleets are in bad shape, old tech/diesel heavy, and many are sidelined.  Driving from Edmonton to Calgary on the QE2 you pass one of their yards. It's been full for all of 2021. I made this drive 2-3 times a month. No work, caniibalizing parts? I think there's better names out there definitely. I ...more
