Thanks man, good find.  I only skimmed it as it's a bit long on CBC platitudes (e.g. Greenpeace talking points conflating Brazilain deforestation with sustainable logging in Canada). But yes, they dominate the coast.  Fully.  They, Paper Ex (PE), also own the Kootneys.  Now it's Ontario.  Domtar first.  They also made me a decent few hundred K when when they ...more

Paper Excellence isn't Sino Forest but possibly?, profitability isn't an overwhelming concern for the company and that would affect the competitive landscape for CFX and any potential buyer. JMO.

The best buyer of CFX would be a First Nations lead group.  They would likely get some tenure to go along with the acquisition and would have lots of government support post acquisition.

Good call, that could work.  Much like Duz Cho in Mackenzie.  I don't believe CFX has tenue directly, as they techncially have no need -- residuals flow where they need to go. They're not SinoForest esque either -- this is stright up deep value.  Sino had a bunch of opaque accounting fraud going on, whereas these guys are simple -- buy big decently capitiized biorefiniers ...more
