numbers south of the border were ugly for last reporting but they termed out their debt for 5-7 years : no immediate crunch but they need to follow CTV/Bell and do some serious mgmt slashing of costs .

The market sure pegged the book value - we are now down to a bv of $1.30. No Goodwill anymore - so much for Cdn media values. we do have a dividend - so they are cleaning up the balance sheet and setting up for Shaw to take it private for under $2.00 a share

FYI Shaw was acquired by Rogers. I guess you meant to say the Shaw family.

Rogers and the Shaw Family don't own Corus Entertainment as they are an independent company. In fact, Corus was spun off from the Shaw's nearly two decades ago.

Question in my mind is whether the dividend was a statement of strength by mgmt or just the Shaw family stripping out cash?  the adjusted income was 9 cents so allocating 3 cents isn't unreasonable as they also put $11 million on debt.
