Who will takeover Corus?
1 ) Quebecor Media
2 ) Bell Media
3 ) Shaw family
4 ) Creditors
Best choice is QM to expand their Videotron holdings.
BM recently did a deal with Corus and their 39 radio stations ( and are likely upset losing Warner channels to Rogers )
SF has control and cash to make this happen.

The CRTC governs media ownership in Canada and I think that many stakeholders in the industry would oppose further media concentration. Canadian economy is already crippled with oligopolies and monopoles in different sectors and having a media duopoly (Rogers and Bell) will make Canada look like North Korea with one perspective (profiteering) https://cjf-fjc.ca/crtc-deals-media-concentration/

So maybe instead of bankruptcy , Quebecor is the right choice.. Apart from a limited number of community broadcasters, media in Canada are primarily owned by a small number of companies: Bell, Corus, Rogers, Quebecor and the government-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

It would be a perfect fit for QBR ~ Quebecor would add content , licences and a radio network ~ the price paid would be less than 80-90M$ * + assuming debt ; would be a good move for Vidotron

Not shure that the Shaw family would accept such low offer....

Dont forget Telus, they just did a deal with Magnite to help them with ad sales on their FAST streaming service. The debt level here can be easily wiped clean with their fcf in a single quarter. Why pay to play when at these levels Telus could buy Corus and its debt and run their own add placement and sales. When the capex is this low, why not?

Pyrogenisis? Going to have to kick the tires on that. Going to be an awesome "investment". I assume it's "genesis" like the Old Testament book of incredibly fanciful stories........ Spare Ribs, talking snakes and Apples in the garden of Eden are far more plausible than your stock trading. Awesome - truly awesome........

I am cut. Deeply. I revoke any past well wishes I may have extended your way. In fact, I wish you nothing but mediocres. Mediocres and half eaten apples. May the geese honk gently sweet prince. For the frogs will croak in splendour at their bewilderment. -TM

Maybe crown corp CBC can buy it for a dime and create a new network aka CBC2 (like BBC in the UK... BBC1 BBC2...).

CBC is absolutely dead the day Trudeau gets punted . I love BBC as it produces great shows and commercial free but CBC generally produces garbage and still sticks us with commercials. The radio is worse as they mix completely unrelated Genres on the same channel I stream the real BBC TV and Radio .
