Split or no split, the capitalization of the company stays the same; and if the stock price seemingly goes up, the less number of shares outstanding offset that. What is good is only  for the looks, it looks better when a stock ttrades at 50cent a share than 5cents; it's the pig lip stick  analogy we hear in the political campaigns.
