Hey retiredcf, you seem pretty sold on this company. I trust your opinion, so I just 3900 shares. Good luck to us both!

I have been adding considerably down here at this level. Very decent support at 35 bucks while on the other end of the scale that 40 dollars has been hard to break through. Great divvy of course.

CPX apears to be good value here if the day traders would just stop range trading this thing long enough for it to break out above $37. RBC estimates annual earnings of $6.79 CAD in 2024 which (at the current share price) equates to a Forward PE of 5.2.  RSI shows this is near a bottom and if Q1 earnings on Wednesday come in decent, then it should start moving up from here.  If BoC ...more

When you look at a comparison of the power/renewables and utilities sectors the payout ratio on the DCFS is lower for CPX (39%) than any other company - in terms of debt the leverage numbers are also better for CPX than the other companies in these sectors - CPX has a 3.6 leverage ratio - the average leverage ratio for power/renewables is 6.0 and 5.7 for the utilities - so does CPX have ...more

So CPX missed by .10 cents.  RBC estimated Q1 EPS of $1.68 and they came in at $1.58.  Nice share price head fake yesterday taking this up over $36 and then they whack the shares this morning! Fortunately I sold yesterday in the high $35s range only to watch it break through $36 almost immediately after I sold.  Thought maybe I sold a bit too soon after it broke $36.  Well ...more

Honeybadger77...your comment about the divvy payout is incorrect. The ex divvy date was March 27 and the payout to holders was April 30. Todays drop is all the result of a bad earnings report. I am a holder with an average price around 36 bucks. Not buying todays dip as I believe further downside is likely.

Well 1condor, I didn't say that today's share price drop was ALL due to the divy payout, I said it was at least in part due to that.  A stock price will ususally adjust for a divy payout and usually happens on the day of the payout (which was yesterday) but as we all know the share price went up and closed up considerably yesterday.  So I think it's fair to say that at least ...more

CPX is trying to move up but at a very slow grind. I still stand by my thinking that it will turn lower again into the 34's when the general market rally loses some steam. Still holding my position but not adding.

So, how's everyone's stress levels today?  LOL The Hedge Funds can sure move a stock price when they want to.  Isn't it amazing how they piled on this stock in the morning using the negative earnings as a reason to drive the share price down and then a few hours later and after a little Fed speak all of a sudden CPX is back up to nearly yesterday's close.  Hmmm ...more

I was one of the long term holders and quite glad to have chosen CPX as part of my portfolio. I added around 40% to my position today and plan to take some profits on that portion when the SP spikes back over $38 in the next couple months probably.  I like the gas power plant expansion in the US and their partnership on nuclear reactors in Alberta.  With CPX I don't feel stress ...more
