If you do not agree with historical facts and evidence then simply label the chroniclers conspiracists, nuts, anti-right, anti-left, racist, anti-Semites, dunces, hateful, anti-patriotic, pacifist, war monger, luddite, ignorant, plotter, treasonist, useful idiot, evil, wonk, neo liberal, neo conservative, know-it-all, village idiot, peon ........
That is a lot easier than actually reading, learning, debating. Why do that. It takes to damm much work.
It is much easier to stay on our little space rather than venturing out into the world where one may step on a mine field of competing views synthesis of which is to difficult.
Humans are the dumest beast on the face of the earth. Best to avoid them and just ignore the fact that after centuries they are still killing each other by the millions, printing conterfeit money, have not developed political governance systems to better the democratic systems created up to this time, still rely on hierarchical systems of governance, still think they are smart because they discovered electricity, modern medicine, cars, internet, space travel, a theory of everything and much more.
Why bother with the effort. The worse that can happen is that you may find yourself in the middle of a war. Not a problem if you have gold stashed in different locations throughout the world.
Millions of Ukraines never thought it would happen to them. But it did and they had no life raft.
Maybe, just maybe the changes afoot in the world right now are not one of a change of empire but a paradigm shift toward a Chinese view, shared by rising Global South, where a better future resides for humans.
Maybe another read of Escobar is warranted:

Escobar writes:
"Xi’s key takeways:
-
“China is ready to be a partner and friend of the U.S.” Even as the reverse is highly doubtful – as China is considered by Washington as an existential “threat”.
-
China focuses on the well-being of all mankind: that’s the core of Beijing’s concept of a global “community with shared future.
-
China and the U.S. should be both responsible for history; for the people; and for the world. That’s the “three responsibilities” concept.
The last thing a unipolar Hegemon is responsible for is the world at large: unipolarity by definition profits only the Empire’s own plutocracy."
Is it the blue pill or the red pill you want to take?
