Just Called my BANK
OK if you buy a Candian company in US like CXRX in your TFSA account, then there is NO
witholding tax of 15%.
As long as the company is based in Canada, there is NO TAX of this kind.
For US stocks below, like AAPL
There is never a witholding tax in RRSP accounts.
There is though on margin ,cash and TFSA accounts.

Remeber on the days where we got 900K in volume, we were at 300K at 11AM. So if we hit 150K at 11, then 450K for the day. If we hit 50K at 11, then 150K.

just because the bid and ask are 52 now, it doesnt mean it will open up there. In fact, since it is very high, it will NOT open up there.

yes Cdn institutions use algoritmic trading as well. Is it present on CXR on a low volume day. Not likely much but they are always present nowadays. 70% of trading volume...moving closer to 80%. Average transaction size is about 150 shares (what does that suggest). Average hold time is way down. We are a dinosaurs without much of a future. . JFF7

Thx JFF for your confirmation. This just goes to say that we are really just observers and that the market makers are not influenced by what is said here or our buying/selling. We can, however, try to understand the patterns and take advantage of what they give us.

What would be the point of sniffing out stop sell orders every day? Wouldn@t they be all cleared out on the first try? (unless they keep going lower each time)

Taking out stop losses is just another form of accumulating shares at a lower price. Holding the buying pressure low has its advantage if accumulation is the game. When goal is reached, let it run up and either take the profits or manage the consolidation. There is not many people who don't believe that CXR is under valued at these prices.

I guess I was thinking about stops with larger leeway before stopping. I notice from some trader service guy (Jason Bond) he uses stops of 3% on his entries and I guess there are lots of other swing traders using similar low percentage stops. Not sure if that is good for trading volatile stock like CXR?
