This is all a bit much for me…

So tired of everything blowing up everyday and drama in tzhe reits.  So if I have big capital losses for other investments this year and my cost on D is about 18, explain what I should do.

So I get a capital gain, right?  But because I have lots of losses, this shouldn't matter, am I thinking correctly here?   I have this in regular account as well as rrsp and resp.  Need to strategize what to sell and keep, any help is appreciated.  I understand keeping irregardless is a play on a longer term buyout but I am leery of more drama and surprises alomg the way. & ...more

Yes you get a capital gain which can be offset if you sell at 15.5.
