Taurx Value

How much is their investment in TauRx worth ?   With Biogen Alzheimer drug approval at the beginning of June, seems like the interest in the markets with this sector would extend to TauRx.   Crazy numbers like 15 Billions USD were getting mentionned around 2016 when the company was considering a US IPO.   It did not pan out (and from what I gather Tau did not meet their end point on a trial) but all Alzheimer drugs failed around this period.    Now that the FDA has signaled that they will approve almost any drug for dementia, this is creating lots of opportunity in this sector.

While their quote share of 15 billions is 600 millions USD, it is probably irrealistic but it should be worth more than the 40 millions they show as a book value for this invesment, especially with a phase III reading next year.    It could easily be worth the total Dundee market cap.

Lets see what will happen but it probably justify Sharpe’s hiring and mandate to streamline their investments.

Anyway, love this story trading for way less than its value, buying back shares and with a couple of nice kickers

Not only did Biogen value increase by 20 billions, but Eli Lilly stock jumped by a similar amount and their treatment is not even in Phase III.  So you do not need an FDA drug approval to see a rerating of Alzheimer related stocks.   Setting up an exact value to Tau is way above my job grade, but i would infer that it is now much more valuable than it was in May or even when this ...more
