This puts the premium now at about 13% which is not outrageous for a split that continues to pay.

DFN  rose .38 and FTN rose .83 in the same period. No premium for FTN at all for now due to the recent share release, but it will return.  Putting money in one or the other right now is a no-brainer.

Understand the case for FTN but don't understand any buying interest in DFN.

As the virus fades commodity prices will rise and Canadian markets could outperform the US this year. FTN holds only US/Canadian financials while DFN is Canadian with approximately 20% exposure to energy.
