Bounce up on the TSX , reduced DFN

Not very confident in the markets at this point in time. So I am holding a very small amount of DFN and about 90 % in cash. Record high inflation numbers reported in The Us CPI report, and folks buy the news? Volatility great for traders , but I am content to sit on cash and wait for deals closer to the end of May.

Question for those more in the know than me on DFN. How can it possibly go up 2.38% today when the aggregate of its holdings were all down? i.e. the NAV dropped.  Is it buyers looking for a deal and put in market orders, or just pay up?

It's a closed end fund,  so selling price doesn't have to equal nav.

I get that, i just can't understand with all the computer algorithms on sell mode all day driving stocks down, how does this fund buck the trend.

Shareholders of quadravest got dividends and they reinvested today.
