VIX not spiking

Despite the daily headlines of bank stress, bank runs, failures etc... the VIX is not spiking. This would help explain why bloated equities like DFN are holding up still. The fear is just not there yet to sell. I'm keeping a close eye on the VIX. Currently at 24, it's just not high enough to feel the conviction to take a position yet.

Lots of commentators tossing around the words "BANK RUN" but there hasn't been any.  Scares and fears and shotgun weddings, but not one singe depositer lost a penny.  Bank shareholders are the only ones hurting.  In a bank run, depositers lose money.

This is very true, but we all know the media needs to always have a seed of worry in their reporting or else they wouldn't be needed. Like every movie or book needs a foe or villian, otherwise it's just not entertaining or newsworthy.   Getting back to a "bank run", SVB is a reminder of just how close we always are to one.
