Can we sell after ex-dividend date and buy other share
Can we sell dfn after record date and buy other share to claim dividend.
YTSL has 22% dividend yield is 29 Jan and dfn has record date of 30th. can we buy YTSL and sell it on 30th jan and buy dfn on 30th to claim both dividends.

Your YTSL will open down by the dividend amount on XDividend day. Sometimes you can get lucky if YTSL has an up day and sometimes you won't.

If you own DFN at close of Jan31st, you are entitled to the distribution, if they have been declared for that month. Watch the unit price the days after, it usually falls.... so sure you could buy south shares

DFN trades ex-dividend Jan 30, so if you are a holder Jan 29 end of day you will get the distribution.

If you own shares currently and want the payout you need to own the shares until closing Jan 29. On the morning of the 30th you can sell them and you will still get the distribution..

Oh misunderstood.... it takes a day or two for your shares to settle in your account. DFN share purchase may not settle until after record date. Ar least that's how my direct investing works...
