DFN unit nav to FEB 27 = approx; $15.24 before dist.

This includes  gains from stocks going ex divvy before Feb 29.... after distributions are doled out DFN  commons have a value of $5.10 ,, still trading at a premium of  5.7%... almost triple the premium that FTN gets with commons valued at $7.62 after dist.... hmmm...

I own both so I don't know what that makes me. All I know is that I'm getting paid $1000 monthly from DFN and $1005 from FTN. (Not even counting my unofficial cap gains from both) So basically, you can call me anything you like as long as it doesn't cost me any money.  :)) GL.

My post was an answer to mouserman. If you read his comparison of the 2 stocks he basically said owning DFN is not a good thing.

The reality is, "owning" the commons of any split is not a viable investment for "most" people. Unless one can nail near the bottom (very difficult) it is too risky to hold outright. My average in DFN is not low enough for me to own it so I flip in and out for now widdling my average down each time. Maybe I will get it low enough one day to comfortably hold it constantly ...more
