DFN unit nav to DEC 18 = approx; $16.45

Spreadsheet showing a loss of 29 cents since the DEC 13th update... big dump day on the markets after the FED speak rattled the markets and produced some fear.
Last sale at  $6.09 makes the discount only 36 cents or about 5.5%

Not for me.... DF is better . And really dont se the markets rebounding in a big way in the next week or so.

DF may be better on paper but DFN has a much highe market Cap and a lower Beta than DF. I also see DFN avg daily trade volume higher... good and bad. I'm curious why you consistently favour DF over DFN?
Comment by FatTraderDude01 on Dec 19, 2024 11:13am
...DFN market cap over DF is 5.2 times higher.  Are you telling us that multiple is justified in DF? Granted, DFN is "traded" with put options affecting sp.

Part of the reason why DFN is overvalued is it has more long-term holders because it has been a more reliable payer. That was the past, and it reverses in the future. DF will now be a more reliable dividend.

Its a thing called NAV..(actual value ). DF has a higher NAV per share than DFN... Does NOT Matter with split funds how big the market cap is.  That is a value of all the shares. Was not long ago that DFN was 2 $ higher UNIT NAV  than DF..  so tell me why did DF catch up and pass DFN... with the exact same 20 stocks in the fund.

The average buyer of DFN probably doesn't visit SH for daily NAV updates. Market Cap and average daily volumes of DFN show a healthy liquidity.  I can easily trade 50,000 shares most times.  As mentioned it also attracts short sellers. DFN is more popular than DF for a reason, the beta is lower with DFN someone would assume it has less volatility. I note today DFN and DF are at the ...more

It will factor in when DFN drops below 15$ threshhold before DF.. they are tanking in UNIT NAV again today. But whatever floats your boat. I am not in either, mostly in cash and a few in FTN and some others  that are safe for distributions for a while.

Yet today DFN and DF continue to rise at the same rate,  despite NAV valuations.  It's a health metric but not necessarily useful for speculative trading well above the $16 threshold. IMO DO you work for Quadravest?
Comment by NoShoesNoShirt on Dec 20, 2024 12:05pm
Fattraderdude, you will get skinny in DFN over DF.

I believe SH is this site "StockHouse".  Probably referring to MouserMan's daily NAV guestimate posts on this forum. He's a very helpful individual.
