Sometimes branches are cut just right, so that we can all reach them. Do you see?

Sometimes branches fall off trees and hit you in the head?????

Lol.  Especially during a hurricane. It's a pretty bad flu season so hopefully we'll get a bump up in enrollment this time. https://www.cdc.gov/fluview/surveillance/usmap.html

BJ AS you inferred, every year there is a comment about bad flu season and there is minimal bump in enrollment. I don't expect there will be but HOPE is eternal!

Akhemmmmm, I thought of Jonny cashless and dufusviking today when I was at the zoo.
Comment by JohnnyCashMoney on Jan 18, 2025 8:35pm
At least you thought. Did it hurt?
Comment by BlueJays9293 on Jan 19, 2025 11:56am
I hear ya' Viking.  I wish there was something more interesting to talk about.  I guess we'll just have to wait for the Vantive deal to finalize and/or the January enrollment numbers to give us something interesting to discuss.

I am not a Viking?never been a fan or rape and/or pillage.

Any updated ETA on Vantive closing? I remember people discussing a Dec/ Jan window.
Comment by JohnnyCashMoney on Jan 19, 2025 1:09pm
Of course there isn't an update. I can't wait for "we are seeking safe harbour".
Comment by hmmmmmmmm on Jan 19, 2025 1:57pm
Unlike what we are used to... CG delivers on what they set out to do, and what they promise shareholders. Maybe they are beating up Baxter in the closing. but CG wants that deal to happen so it will. We need CG to unburden us from amateur Seto and his pocket stuffing, excuse machine.
Comment by BlueJays9293 on Jan 19, 2025 7:09pm
There is no maybe about in my humble opinion.  CG is definitely puting the screws on to Baxter.  And rightly so, Baxter's own incompetence on building their own private levy to protect their monopolistic IV Fluid factory, failed greatly, and it's failure drastically hurt one of their very best gems in Vantives portfolio.  The gem with a profit margin that's exponentially ...more

IF CG is turning the thumbscrews on Baxter's incompetence, that certainly does not instill confidence with Spectral.  Can only imagine the fun they will have negotiating with Spectral.
Comment by BlueJays9293 on Jan 20, 2025 4:50pm
CG has Baxter over the barrel because they desperately need the cash from the sale of Vantive and it would be a disaster for Baxter if CG decided to walk away from the deal.  Baxter has billions of dollars in Bonds maturing and the refinance interest rate will be at least triple the rate of what the maturing bonds had.  The CG walk away threat to get Baxter to lower their price is what I ...more

I certainly appreciate your comments; however, does CG have a deal with Baxter?  If so, how can they turn the thumbscrews if the deal has been signed? As far as Spectral, the trial is still required to get over the finish line, and until that occurs it would be premature to commence counting that a deal is imminent with CG. My logic...until Spectral demonstrates that in has the ability to ...more

I too appreciate your cordial and intelligent response.  CG does in fact have a deal in place for $3.5B to buy Vantive from Baxter.  However, it is contingent on final due dilligence/inspections before CG writes the check and receives the keys.  It's akin to somebody signing a contract to buy your house for X amount.  That person then has until 'closing' to check ...more

I wonder if CG has not already made a deal with Spectral, contingent upon satisfactory completion of the Tigris trial.
Comment by BlueJays9293 on Jan 20, 2025 7:36pm
I think regulations would make it really hard for Spectral to sit on that kind of information for very long without disclosing it to shareholders.  That's not to say that that kind of deal couldn't happen at any moment in the future, but as of now it's fair to assume that a deal hasn't been agreed to yet.  Have preliminary discussions happened for CG to get a ball park ...more

Thanks BlueJays9293 for the interesting and informative reply.

I generally agree with everything BJ has laid out. However I don't preclude the possibility that "informal discussions" have already taken place between CG and Spectral, Toray and BH. For DD on Vantive assets, and other reasons ( eg getting a handle on the potential Toray prize globally)  There doesn't have to be a formal offer ( which I agree would require disclosure ) ...more

Hey MM!  Good to see you are finally over your NYE Cosmo hangover. Yes its all back channel stuff at this point in my opinion. Spectral and Vantive have been officially having meetings about Tigris/PMX for the last year and a half at least. And Fyi, those meetings are basically just really nice expensed diners out, shooting the chit, and drinking Patron, but those interactions are the ...more

I've heard that such dinner meetings may be happening more frequently of late, in order to take advantage of the GST exemption on restaurant meals, in place until Feb 15. Perhaps that'll be extended in light of the new Feb 1 tariff deadline. All just spectralation of course as it's hard to know what goes through the leaders ( such as Musk and Bannon) heads during these trying times.& ...more
