when the % of outstanding shares that are short is now up to about 5% .

Most of the shorts were in well before the 50% earnings drop. Since hope isnt a strategy most of us use to make trading decisions the short thesis is Exro is insolvent many including myself covered some on the earnings drop but the thought of a short squeeze on a stock thats down 80% this year is laughable.
