I bought more

this morning at $7.56 for 17.99 percent dividend. My average before the buy was $7.12 so I am well in the green. I figured it would bounce back up. The banks are going to raise rates 3 or 4 times in 22 so I heard. They will make more $, so dividends will likely go up. Pushing inflation up, and pushing 15 splits up with them. If I have something wrong here let me know.

Right on. I remember in the 80s how people were meowing about the banks making too much money.  That was a period of high inflation.

The only thing you really have 'wrong' is in assuming that raising rates automatically means banks make higher profits.  Banks make profits off of the split between what they pay and what they can charge, not merely on the top side.  More important to bank profits is volume, how much money they can churn in and out.  Moving more mpney at a lower split can often result in ...more
