FFN unit NAV to July 24 = approx $14.41

So now showing a gain of 67 cents since July 14, and would trading right at NAV after paying to the preferreds.

I have a NAV showing ~$14.42. Subtracting the accrued dividends, FFN is now trading at a discount of ~$0.02. The NAV will need to rise less than 4.5% more to get to $15.00 after the ex-dividend date. This has been a heck of a run in the U.S. financials!

I believe the financials have been lagging tech and other sectors, and now they're simply catching up due to some sector rotation. Looking at the monthly chart for the XLF (which is the tracking ETF for Large cap US financials-which includes the big Canadian banks/insurance companies' US tickers, too--a good proxy for the holdings in FFN) shows we're at a decision point, running into ...more

The regional bank failures had  a lot to do with the major banks getting a lower valuation. AS well the ratings agencies all downgraded the US banking sector back then... Not sure if they have raised the ratings back up again or not. Regional  banks hold a majority of the big commerical / industrial real estate debt and that still may cause some troubles, particularly if FED speak says ...more
