Why did the US banks just turn red?

Seems like a big swing down out of no where? What is the catalyst?

Profit taking, after the recent run up tomato's it's understandable. Also it's not just the banks look at the entire market, everything down today.

  YEAH , I SAW some negative in the recent  US bank  Q reports, wasnt all peachy... So the runup to another alltime high for the  NYSE, makes it look very much like a top ...  GS was up over 10% from JULY 08 to the 16th.. and very short time for that kind of move... BAC was up about 8 .5 % in that same time frame...  So yes a pullback was in order.There is still a lot ...more

Why is the market rumpled up? Donald Trump said he wants a lower US dollar. Technology stocks crashed because he said he wouldn't protect Taiwan. He constantly makes statements that are off the top of his head,  never consults advisers. Here's 4 more years of knee-jerk reactions and seat of the pants trial and error policy. And he sure doesn't care for Canada.

uh-oh, look out below... FFN down 3% today;

FFN can be quite volatile - usually starts mornings on a negative note, recovers later. NAV of  my mock portfolio is only down 1.4%, so FFN down 3% earlier in the day is an overreaction. Now down 1.79% at 1:22 pm
