Re: Fortune is in year 23

It typically takes ten to fifteen years of exploration, data analysis, planning and financing to bring a mine into production.

With all that is going on around us this is exactly why its near impossible that we are not a target of some larger entity .....but also should justify FT's original goal of being a producer and player in the game of cobalt products. Whatever the disconnect is it will be coming to an end soon....in my mind, if there was ever a big bang theory potential - FT would be in that club - its all ...more

Whats the biggest killer ?? driving ore 5 - 7 hours ??
Comment by geolith on Mar 08, 2021 6:17pm
Elite..You realize that the ore is processed on site, producing different products, one a gold concentrate and one a cobalt concentrate.  Like Pine Point that produced lead and zinc concentrates, it is this product that is shipped and then further refined.  No ore is driven more than a km from the portal or pit.  Transporting concentrate is the way all most all base metal mines ...more

This time line depends on where one works.  In the NWT once one exclude diamond mines where unlimited capital (cash and engineering, permitting etc) is available, and look to all non-diamond mine operations: 1. Fortune at Nico 2. Norzinc at Prarie Creek 3. Tyhee/GoldMining at Ormsby 4. Avalon and partners at Nechalcho 5. Osisko/Century Mining at Pine Point. And add Gold Terra, Rover, Sixty ...more

Fortune Minerals is still alive after 23 years without production. That should mean something. Some kind of a quality sign. Most companies would have broken their back after so many years without coming to production. All honour to Mr. Goad for his dedication to this project. I do belive, even if I have some doubts sometimes, that this stubborn miner will succeed in his effort to put Fortune in ...more

This and other examples only go to show the utter farce of the Revenue-Virginius mine purchase. The reality is that a small percentage of all potential mines are ever built and even then fluctuating prices, especially for base metals, puts many out of business even after production has been established. The Revenue mine is a joke and only numbskulls would every invest in this 140 yr old hole in ...more

I think the 4-5 billion in proven resources at FT speaks for its self and is about the range needed for majors to stop and take closer look. The unknown part of which you speak is future potential for the miner / partner who jumps in...no doubt in my mind that who ever that is will want the processing question answered. FT has the resource and infrastructure to go now, the industry disconnect is ...more
