REE from coal deposits

Recent research finds that rare earth elements (REE) are often found at coal seams, with higher concentrations in anthracite deposits. Wonder if this potential has ever been considered for the Mount Klappen project, for which the option to buy back the coal licence expires in less than a year (May 2025). If the seams could be mined in a less intrusive way, other than using an open pit method, perhaps it could be a win win for all involved.

I don't think the locals in the Klappen will ever be in favour of seeing a mine. But who knows! It's hard to believe it was ten years ago when the province bought our stake in the project.  Correct me if I'm wrong but it was 10 million? I think it's definitely worth trying to purchase back if possible.   cheers
