FTN UNIT NAV to Nov 11 =$18.75 Premium now at 34 cents

Challenge anyone to find a split fund common shares with nearly 4 $ of safety trading at a premium of  3.88% and still paying 16.5 % yield.
I doubt you can find one even with a lower yield trading at a premium of 14% or lower.
Chances of FTN doing an offering here is nil and next to none. They cannot be dilutive to existing shareholders, so  that is why they do offerings usually at a large premium  like 15% at minimum and even up to 25%.
FTN has a long way to run yet. My biggest holding by far , but i did use some of the cash i had left on hand buy FFN today, and sold  it late in the day for a nice gain, and bought BK again.
What a terrific week to be in the market. Made it a lot nicer to get the distributions yesterday , over 2000$ for the kitty.

Perhaps the worst time  to sell, and had they waited  20  days.... my guess is Berskshire had to take some time to unload that much without driving the price down too quickly. My guess is that they sold at an average of about ...more

Please don't take those posts personally.  I posted them because they likely have a lot of bearing on this segment of the market, not to point to who is right or wrong.  Leaving money on the table, isn't a loss as far as I'm concerned. Profit is what it's all about.  Absolutely nobody can predict the markets 100%  Best we can do is make decisions within our ...more

Well the selling satrted much before where i suggested it had, i only looked for spikes in volume in OCTOBER.The famed investor's conglomerate has sold 84 million shares of the US Bank's parent company since June 30, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing revealed Thursday. Buffett's company has counted US Bancorp among its largest holdings since 2007, and owned 145 ...more
