We've heard you. There is a need for more civil and focused discussion on Stockhouse. Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive community where people can share their thoughts and information about small cap stocks in Canada and the U.S. We want an active and lively discussion that helps investors gain greater insights into their investment decisions.
Behind the scenes we have been building state of the art Community Management tools and reviewing our Community Policies to ensure that we are much better positioned to help the community find their voice in a constructive way.
With thousands of Bullboard posts being generated by the community on a daily basis the challenge is to identify all possible content that may be violating our Community Policies. To this end we have:
We will be using the improved team and processes to help ensure a stronger and more focused discussion takes place.
Even with the changes we're making, you, as a member of Stockhouse, can help us out. We can't review every post, therefore, you're part of the solution in helping us weed out that undesirable content. You can:
Moving forward it's important to us that members know what actions are being taken against their account or posts. We believe that the best approach is to help educate and shift behaviour of members that are non-compliant, and to that end, we will make sure that members know if their content is non-compliant with our Community Policies. If this information is repeatedly ignored then the Community Management team will, at their discretion, suspend or disable a member's account.
As of November 28, a member will receive a message from the CommunityManagement user in their "My Messages" inbox whenever an action is taken against the member's account or one of their posts. A member may also recieve a message if the Community Management team wishes to provide comment on aspects of the member's participation on a Bullboard.
Our hope is that this improved transparency will lead to better decisions by the small group of members that sometimes reduce the quality of conversation on site.
We've reviewed our Community Policies and will be rolling out the following changes. All other Community Policies will remain in effect. You can view the current Community Policies on our Support website.
We will provide more details about the changes that are upcoming between now and November 28. Our goal is to provide a better experience for every member on Stockhouse and will be working hard to do that. Should you ever have any feedback, questions or concerns about how the Community is managed please reach out via email to our Community Management team at community@stockhouse.com.
