FTN UNIT NAV to April 15 = approx: $17.79

So my spreadsheet is showing a loss of 60 cents since March 29....
safe for  distributions for at least a month unless the next 2 weeks of April is worse than the last 2.

FTN has lots of safety, so I'm not sure what you are talking about there!?!

Let me try this one... FTN has financial stock exposure.  If that sector falls more rapidly as it has since the end March, distributions could be effected. I thinkCanadian rates "could" drop in June so that should help Canadian financials. If the US dollar drops dollar could rise, further elevating Canadian financials... JMHO.

The Financial Post reports in its Tuesday edition that economists believe that Canadian inflation likely increased again in March, but not by a enough to impact the Bank of Canada's plans. The Post's Denise Paglinawan writes that inflation rose to 3 per cent last month, after a surprise drop to 2.8 per cent year-over-year in February. I agree completely , every time there is even a minor correction , the board guru advocates doom and gloom , Sell sell sell , go into preferred or elsewhere , now where is elsewhere safe from this recent correction. I appreciate his daily NAVs and maybe he should stick to that , the reason everyone applauds him , however over recent times his investing recommendations leave alot to be desired and ...more

Safest dividend stock of all time is eit.un. There is places to hide. It has paid 10cents a month for 15 years.

Sure seems to be faring better than FTN , FFN,  LCS and the host of other splits. But with the yield under 9% i feel just as safe with FTN.pr.a and perhaps some of the floating preferred like EMA.pr.b... I do like that EIT.un has exposure to gold with some of the best names in the space..

Lasr official NAV by Quadravest March 28th was $18.59.  So, with a loss of 60 cents NAV should be $17.99 or it's a loos of 80 cents?
Comment by Richou77 on Apr 16, 2024 8:39am
Oh, after distribution, NAV was $18.39  With a loss of 60 cents NAV is $17.79
