Magnificent Seven all drop

Big Tech has put markets in a funk. Shares of both Tesla and Google parent Alphabet sold off after disappointing earnings, weighing especially on the tech-heavy Nasdaq.

The Russell 2000 index of small- and midsize companies, meanwhile, continued to outperform its major counterparts.

Results from IBM, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Ford are due after the close.

In recent trading:

The three major indexes dropped, extending Tuesday's declines.

All of the Magnificent Seven stocks slipped, led by Tesla.

Benchmark Treasury yields were little changed, having settled Tuesday at 4.24%.
