FTN dropping in sympathy with FFN?

Not much  makes sense here of late.. in these. Downturn in the financials is one thing, but these were at historically big discounts, maybe this correction overdue, is the reason.

This makes no sense to me, either. FFN I understand, there is a material NAV risk with the retraction. But FTN, which has more safety and is not subject to retraction, is dropping faster and harder.

It might seem that way but the % doesn't lie, FFN is down 2.68% vs FTN 1.23%, regardless it's unjustified as the underlying stock value hasn't detoriorated that much. I have Level 2 access through my broker and there are huge orders coming across the tape on both. Volume on FFN is near double and both have seen some large orders come across the tape, seems like FFN has had more net ...more

Yea, FTN was down 3% and FFN 2-point-something at the time I posted the message above. Thankfully it has rebounded somewhat!

I must have missed that, perhaps a stop loss got hit on a big shareholder. Financials have taken a hit today as well which can account for it being down although it's trading at such a huge discount it seems unjusified.

Unjustified????? A lot of people who bought into FTN at much loftier levels wouldn't agree with you on that.  I fully agree, everything looks good, when you factor in NAV.  The question is, what are the undelying props for the IMHO inlfated prices and NAVs of the holdings contained in FTN's portfolio.  After the the 2019 and previous precipitous drops, people realize ...more
