A comparison of two Marathons.

Let's do our best to compare Marathon gold with GENM. Your thought welcome.

MOZ just released their DFS for the Valentine gold project. At SPOT, NPV 5% discount of $868 mill CAD. CAPEX $305. Mine life 13 years. Market Cap $475 mill.

I'm sure we're all familiar with GENM numbers by now. Roughy double the NPV (at spot), yet 1/3 the MC, both in Canada etc... Is there a fatal flaw with GENM I can't see? Then why would management buy on the open market? Drew had access to all the raw data we don't see as retail and took the job AND bought shares. These questions run circles in my head.

Compare the MC of MOZ with GENM and here we see the disconnect between a gold company and a "polymetallic" project. I see this as largely an emotional thing. Gold (and silver) just grabs the interest like no other commodity (except maybe Uranium). It's almost cult like (not that I'm not a gold bug, I am, that's why I can say these things!). MOZ took aaaaaages to get to where they are now. IF a project is stellar, management will move heaven and earth to get to a production decision. A whole bunch of goldies in canada have been dragging their feet sitting on studies (see Sabina). GENM is the opposite. Everything I've seen from management indicates they really want to build ASAP.

The only major risk is Pd price (IMO). We may have to wait a little longer for the long awaited re rating. It may take absolute certainty (like a funding announcement and/or permits), so will take patience, a virtue not many resources investors have...

I own both and this is way undervalued
Comment by timeoutofmind on Mar 31, 2021 9:04pm
why is it undervalued ? because of me ? because of bogeymen MM's working tirelessly seven days a week to suppress it ? or because the market thinks there is something fundamentally wrong ?  seriously. it is way well past the time where it's an undiscovered secret sleeper. why does eveyone keep taking a look and deciding they dont' like what they see ? honestly .. .?

No one knows , that's the fun part. Stock market is a funny thing sometimes. It's junior mining...

This junior has everything to make it  to the major leagues. And yes, it will most definitely get there. Management at GENM  are moving at lightening speed since acquiring the property.  Upcoming production decision should be announced next week, or maybe tomorrow. Looking forward to another check in the box on their most aggressive goals that they are achieving. long on this ...more

I own both as well sacks.   from marathon pgm I got moz and now I'm in genm as well . I've been in for some time now  both have very serious upside !!!! I recently averaged up at.81 in genm  my experience is that averaging up is way better than averaging down lol im bullish on both companies
Comment by Sacks7 on Apr 01, 2021 4:29pm
Yes averaging up is better than down . This conservatively should be trading atleast at 35% Nov = 350 million

Your correct with your assessment. It's the uncertainty about palladium and genm time to production that holds this back, also SBSW decision and capex financing depending on SBSW decision, also permitting is never guaranteed but I'm pretty confident that they will get it and kerry seems confident too. I'm bullish about palladium for the short to medium term (4 -8 years) like they ...more

Sandblaster.... just my opinion, but I follow ev's and battery tech.....and palladium has no chance of being prominent in the near future. Cash money  cataylic converters is where genm's pd is going internal combustion engines are here for awhile  then comes hybrids, especially in cold climates ....then all electric.....it's going to take longer than most people expect ...more

Yeah I agree that EVS will take awhile to gain market dominance but I was trying to point out investors sentiment currently. They think it can gain dominance overnight, which it can't. Lots of car companies promising this and that but we will see how fast they can do it. As for palladium in batteries I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Maybe they could use in on a battery powered ship or ...more
