Does anyone know if Graphene has any potential applications augmenting protective armour ? Whether to further lightweight 
personal armour, or perhaps in conjunction with convential steel or composite armour as found on military vehicles.

Seems that something that is 200 times stronger than steel , and significantly lighter could have some protective applications.

Just getting tired of talking about batteries and plastic applications. Change of subject as good as a rest.....just temporarily!

Yes Dumont. The lightweighting of graphene enhanced ballistic projectile or bullet proof armour is as real as you breathing. A certain U.S. based company, the name escapes me at the moment, has most specific intellectual property relating to such a application for graphene. I'd fully expect such a particular application is off-limits to NanoXplore, as I do recall that there exists a moat ...more

Well, at worst, this just another huge potential market for grapheme even if end products made by others.
