Just look at the chart.

Sept 28/23 - $12.05

Dec 13/24 - $10.11
---------------------------
                  -$1.94

$1.94/15 = $.1293

Not a good looking chart.

This thing can't afford to pay the distribution. It falls by the same amount, plus handling fees, on average for every month since the IPO.

Dead money for the most part, with a bit of principal loss.

This is not a "low risk" investment.

Your money is dead at best. If this is what your broker is pushing at you, find another broker or open an GIC.

I will have to agree with Deisman and will be eating crow as I did buy both HPYT and HBND back in June anticipating in Sept that the Fed was going to Cut, which they did, but bond yields started rising....the charts were starting to look good and then they did a sharp u turn again just recently....I am stuck in these trades for now.or sell and take the loss.

It could be much worse. You aren't taking much of a loss, if any at all, if you've been collecting the distributions.  You should be quite close to even.  Also, depending on which account you hold this, it could be beneficial to take the tax loss.  I'm not astute enough to make predictions on the future of this vehicle. Preserving "principal" is a golden ...more

On the first run I sold half and then bought some back. Actual cost base is in the 10.60 range for HPYT and wil monitor the price action. <<<<Preserving "principal" is a golden rule in SPLITS.>>>> That is my belief as well and it is in my personal rules of investing. As with SPLITS, same holds true for Covered call ETFs which I have been slowly taking profits ...more

After few analysis is that the stock dip more than the underlying holding , so if the treasury 10 get to 4.5 we could see a 9.5$ but when the treasury hit this level before the etf never got at this low level may 29 the treasury  was 4.6 and the etf was 10.8 so it doesn't smell roses .....

Do you think that we are close to bottom, Deisman03? I''ve been buying steadily since the summer and regret it dearly as I sold some (what I thought were then frothy) tech names to buy.  What a mistake.  Now everyone is saying that 30-year treasury yields are going to 8-10%, which is a low way from where we are.

I was interested but after reading few projection the bottom maybe at 9.5$ watch the 10 years treasury once it get over 4.5% we maybe at the bottom

IMHO, Harvest started this vehicle to late in the race.  This won't bottom until the US stops cutting interest rates. Then, if it's still going or hasn't lost to much, it won't start making money until interest rates start climbing again.  It is what it is.  It might come back up if interest rates bottom for a few years, maybe.  It looked good at first, but ...more
