Q2

Everyone was expecting excellent Numbers and Progress..and we got that
A lot were hoping for a hint that WF drilling was on to something new and significant...and we didn't get that

Typically, shareprice flat after earning announcement, but moves up after upcoming conf call

re WF Friedland made it very clear , (at the end of the conf call,) that we won't  hear anything about WF until ithe post summer Mining conferences Talk about setting up an Attention grabbing scenario, He's gotta know that he's not going to embarass himself by announcing mediocre reults, eh ?

RF has said the same last year.  They have no need to announce what they know until we or others need to know. It's been his normal operating procedure.   I haven't listen to the call.   Currently up north with spotty wifi. But I'm hearing about a possible dividend on the way.   Could this be the big news he was alluding to a month ago or so?

There is no dividend on the way.  It was addressed by the first question asked.  An analyst asked the question and was given the same response IVN has always given.  They are in hyper growth mode and not a mature company.  " our shareholders are better served deploying capital into growth" to paraphrase was the response.  They laid out an enormous amount of ...more

Makes sense Cash.   I'm good with growth.  I'm trying to find a recording of the call.

The most specific of them all was Marna a month or so ago. She made it clear that dividends are at least 2-3 years away. Her interview has been posted here. I even called out the time in the recording when she talks about dividends. Not any time soon. I’d rather have my investments triple in the next 2-3 years than holding it back by immature dividends. Interest rates are still high, no point ...more

Kamoa is committed to distribute its first dividend to shareholders during the third quarter, this dividend will amount to $98 million, of which 20% is payable to the DRC government - Maria. This sounds like a dividend is coming, but a one time not recurring.
Comment by cashtango00 on Jul 31, 2024 9:20pm
littlemoney, You are misinterpreting what Marna said.  She is referring to a dividend be paid out from the partnership to its respective members, not to IVN shareholders.  DRC gov't controls 20% of the Kamoa/Kukula partnership, so they will receive their respective portion.  It cannot be any clearer, IVN has zero intention of paying out a dividend to its shareholders for the ...more

The dividend idea at this development stage never made sense to me. I want more holes in the ground, hundreds of kilometers of drill core, geophysical data out the wazoo, startling new ore bodies and the world's next major diversified mining company.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought a dividend wouldn't make sense but now im even more confused....so Kamoa is paying this dividend (not investing that money in growth) and shareholders get nothing. Seems like a waste of money to me, unless it's to keep DRC happy or something

I am surprised this is called dividend. Sounds much more like "profit sharing" between the partners which is a legitimate allocation consideration the composition of the JV. As such, it is very different from  a dividend. As for the comment about drilling more holes before dividends, more discoveries will result in better evaluation, r-go higher share price. Dividends however, are ...more
