Well now you know why they released this after the market close on a FRIDAY. Never seen any company announce a dividend on a Friday evening. EDIT they actually just reported earnings Fridat after 9PM. Is this real life??

To be fair the current dividend reflects a terrible Q4. I guess we forgot about it since the SP now is running high off of current iron performance. Gotta wait till July for another big payment

I'm also looking for that, they gave no info on reasoning that I seen. With the commodity price so high, was there any major slow down in shippings or payments from customers or is this the new normal? Remember back in early December when I was running numbers and questioning where we were thinking the dividend was going and normalizing? This is not far off my worst case scenario, which I ...more

It's just a unique scenario where prices plummeted really fast in Q4 but then recovered quickly in Q1. Are they shipping significantly more ore now than pre 2021? 50% higher commodity price for 50% more payout makes sense and technically the payout should be higher than following the commodity because there is not really extra costs other than general inflation factors on producing $75 iron than $150 iron, so you should get a better profit margin better than a double. So this 50 cent announcement ...more

Why did these a-holes lower the dividend? The stock is down 15% already this morning. I thought they had a good earnings report. I'm so tired of these huge moves lower from earnings reports. You never know whether to sell a position or stay in right before a report these days because the moves to the downside can be so overdone if investors aren't happy.

Best clue was an earnings and dividend date reported on a Friday AFTER market close. Normally this is an automatic sell for me but I don't really pay attention to the news on this holding. Can't let your guard down even on dividend plays.
