Financing would be my guess

Company has a lot of exploration to do as well as some heavey option payments coming before the end of the year.

We've had a good run.  Hopefully the financing isn't at too much of a discount to the current share price.  Not that it matters long term but we've had a nice little run.

Fresh money in the bank will let us keep that momentum going!

I've been on both sides of halts (good news and bad news), have to think this is positive with the share price movement.  Could be financing, but unusal to halt for a financing.  Hope it is not a tender offer, too soon, too much upside to be firmed up.  Likely is some drilling results, good or bad??  we play the waiting game.

They didn't raise enough money in the last round to get us through all the option payments coming this year.   Plus if they were able to negotiate a premium to the share price...say at around $3.50 a share, I'd be happy with that. That's at a premium to what we were trading at a few weeks ago mind you.  The run up in both copper prices and the share price has been ...more

If they are financing now and not waiting for the present run up in share price then something is fishy here. MM

They would have been negotiating this deal for weeks.  Well before the run up in both copper prices and Marimaca stock prices.  The deal would have been in for review with regulators for probably a week at least.  So the ink on the deal was already dry before we had a break out. Looks to me like they will now be able to mobilize multiple drill rigs and advance the project much ...more

Makes a lot of sense ... if a deal was in progress then the price raise would have forced their hand.

We all knew additional finacing was required but not this soon, why now. The company has commented multiple times they have funding for the next year. I would like further explanation on the rush which in turn continues to dilute our position for minimal value!
Comment by micromike on Feb 22, 2021 12:51pm
Explain this to me. The company says this Copper @ $3.15 Post-Tax NPV8 & IRR US$524 million / 33.5%.   The last time they did an overnight financing. Now they do a bought deal. Nothing like a rally killer. The price was held below $3.50 until it broke out. I would say this is very suspicious. There’s only about 10% in the public float so you can’t do anything about it as public ...more

If they are a long term holder, should not change the public float, and we should continue climbing.  Now what if that investor was a large copper company, like for eg. First Quantum, then it might change your view on the dilution and why now.  I just picked First Q just because of the board member, but this could be the beginning of a JV with a major looking to get in the game early if ...more

Should have added: I don't always speculate, but when I do, I make sure its spectacular.  Stay positive my friend. Skater

On the whole I think most of us have legit points, questions and concerns from time to time. Being on the inner outside I have full trust in what the company does and where they are going albeit a liitle more info would always help iron out some of these unknowns.  With another relatively large PP I suspect the market will see it as a good thing, builds my confidence with the srills already ...more

I'm sure it didn't happen cause these things usually don't (wink, wink) but you can see now why there was a wall at $3.50 for the longest time.  they just couldn't hold it.  Will be interesting to see how the price reacts to this.  At least they are closing it fast.  Wonder if Greenstone and Tembo will up the financing to maintain their % ownership??
