Recent Combined Cycle Power Plant Purchase

Captial Power bought 50.15% of a 265MW natural gas combined cycle power plant for 137Mil CDN.

This transaction puts the HR Milner Plant at a value of $309Mil CDN with a minimum share price of $6.09 which is $1.71 increase or 39% upside.

Thanks for your post! Do you have any sense of the comparative efficiency of the Capital Power facility acquired? I am wondering if Milner would be more profitable on a comparable basis? LR

I don't sorry but the information is publicly disclosed in Capital Powers (TSX:CPX) news feed.  I believe the power plant is locatedin Washington state.

I took a look at the press release. Fredrickson has been in operation since 2002. It sits on a 7 acre site. Capital Power already was an owner in this facility and they refer to it as a "mid-life"  asset.  It comes with some contracts out to 2030 but seems more like a peak demand and reserve source of power than a consistent producer.
