MIT developing a vaccine boost. Let's go ONCY, stay in front....

"In that study, the researchers found that this vaccine boost not only helped the engineered CAR-T cells attack tumors, but it had another, unexpected effect: It helped to generate host T cells that target other tumor antigens. This phenomenon, known as “antigen spreading,” is desirable because it creates populations of T cells that, working together, can fully eradicate tumors and prevent ...more

If that article refers to ONCY and pela, it would be a big boost to our CAR-T outlook.

I read through some papers from the MIT group and they have been publishing about viruses and CAR-T for a few years now. I could not see any specific reference to which virus they are using in that work. It must be there, but I did not see the word "pelareorep" anywhere.  In some sense, it does not matter whether they used pela or not. What they showed is that an oncolytic virus ...more

@Westcoast. Search  -  Vaccine delivers a boost to T cell therapy. This study is based on a 2019 study, and certainly does not appear to be pelareorep. Pela seems to be light years ahead of this.

I agree Jim. My thought was that their work provides more proof of concept for ONCY. We did not just come up with that reasoning alone.

@Westcoast. I agree. Perhaps partially explained by the MIT/MAYO Physical Sciences Center for Drug Distribution and Drug Efficacy in Brain Tumors; could not find any recent news for them. I am assuming, perhaps wrongly, that the confirmatory CAR T trial will be kept under wraps until other matters are settled.  Nothing is guaranteed. Cheers.

@Noteable. Exactly what I was thinking. Would be nice to know for sure; odds are it is pela. Confirmation required. Thanks for keeping the news flow coming.

TO MYSELF. MIT/MAYO PHYSICAL SCIENCES. Looks like pela. What a boost. Pun intended.

@Noteable. In the recent CAR T poster that I cannot find, I think they did not use the boost. So if this cofirmation study used a boost that is very interesting. I have not seen any of this in writing, but if it is pela, WOW.

The technology used in this study has been licensed to a company called Elicio Therapeutics, which is working on developing it for potential testing in patients.

Thanks for clearing that up. The CAR T study for pelareorep that is being confirmed did not use a boost. Where is the news on this confirmatory CAR T study. About due one would think.
