RioTinto moving away from plasma torch for iron ore pellets

Great news directly from Rio Tinto reporting that a combination of micro-wave furnace  and bio carbon binder opens up the way to carbon free steel.

After Vale ( working with Hydrogen) Rio Tinto breakthrough is another nail in the MEGA plasma torches sales...This sounds the death kneel of the old pelletizing iron ore furnaces...as anticipated.

Do your serious DD. Get independant advices  from technical experts.

the article you link does not refer to the pelletization process at all, seems to be a process they are looking at further downstream. also from your link, BioIron is just one of the pathways we are developing in our decarbonisation work with our customers, universities and industry to reduce carbon emissions right across the steel value chain.”

Gee, we're up a penny.  Guess this little gambit didn't work for your short, did it?

" The BioIron™ process works using lignocellulosic biomass including agricultural by-products (e.g. wheat straw, canola stalks, barley straw, sugar cane bagasse) or purpose-grown crops. The biomass is blended with iron ore and heated by a combination of ...more

Raphaelle2 is simply an armchair quarterback playing FUD.  Any lie and manipulation to make a buck! Funny, we have identified a key contact that has worked on the cost structure for the plasma torches for the Client B.   Raphaelle2 sounds desperate.  And has proven 100% wrong in his previous FUD campaigns. Client B has ordered and received its 4 torches for its SAT.   ...more

Lollll Raphaelle2 is once again debunked with its failed FUD strategy.  Even a 6-grader would see through his agenda. Anything that comes out of this bashers is never credible.  This guy is intentionally spreading false rumors, one post after another.

So this bioiron pellets production project pushes back PYRO's project a couple of years. Then we can all invest in massive farms to produce the raw material necessary. A good alternative to sourcing Green hydro power for the clean pettets a la PYROGENESIS. Huge amounts of material to move. Frankly, I would rather move the material on a wire. Faster, cleaner.  At a time of food shortages ...more
