@cargo Listen carefully to what Bernard says @0:12 in the new video.

He talks about how silica fume is a byproduct that comes from any process that turns quartz into silicon, he then goes on to say "we will be making silica fume with the QRR"

This has been discussed before on here before on this this board about silica fume being a byproduct from the GEN3, to me this just confirms that this is indeed the case:)

@cargo The thing about silica fume is it can be converted to Silicon Carbide by heating it with graphite at 1500°C (2730°F). My guess is that if the silica fume is pure enough coming from the Purevap process this could be another avenue that $HPQ + $PYR could investigate down the road. @cargo Sweet, just found the info I was looking for, the purity of the silica fume ...more
