Today you've seen a perfect example

A perfect example why the warrant repricing will prevent any meaningful move higher for the foreseeable future.

The warrant that were repriced Can't Be Sold in the market. They don't trade .

Anyone who bought a recent financing with warrants attached is now underwater.

Underwater on the stock, but not on the warrants.

If someone who unfortunately bought one of those issues needs a little money today, if they had bought say 15,000 units (arbitrarily), they could have sold stock at 83 at the opening and exercised their warrants at .75 and quickly pocketed $1200.

They didn't have to sell the stock at a loss to bring in some dough.

There are now millions of such Warrants outstanding.

A somewhat sneaky way of bringing in money by the company.

That's exactly what the warrant repricing was, to the detriment of existing shareholders.

This isn't going anywhere much higher for the foreseeable future.

The question now is can it hold .75.

It tested it yesterday.

Under .75, that source of money coming in disappears.

Question if you sell the stock short doesn't the up tick rule applicable??? TX TT
Comment by tamaracktop on Sep 06, 2024 12:52pm
I believe the uptick rule is no longer Filoux, I'd have to double check. Even if it is still in place, the effect remains. People can just put sell orders in a penny or two above the market.  You might have noticed very large offerings in the low 80's. Far more offered than bid.

TX, one thing is for sure they can't short sell on a downtown tick. DD glta

They aren't shorting in the conventional sense. There's no risk. It's a covered short, they have the warrants.  The stock is either stuck between 75 and the low eighties for a long time, or it goes lower.

TX...makes sense. Dd glta

You've just seen it again. Any rally to .85 or better is likely to be short lived. A bird in the hand beats two in the bush.

Probably why Nesbitt just sold 40,000 at .80. Somebody just pocketed a couple of grand.
Comment by tamaracktop on Sep 06, 2024 2:40pm
Now 69,000 offered at .81, after trading as high as .86. This is EXACTLY what I mean.

So they are locking in 6_7%  returns. DD glta
Comment by tamaracktop on Sep 06, 2024 3:50pm
6%-7% returns is not particularly valid here. To calculate a return requires and initial investment and net proceeds in order to calculate.  Here there is no downstroke on the part of people arbing the warrants.  The transactions are simultaneous. The people doing it are making money without putting up anything.  There is absolutely no reason to exercise any of the outstanding ...more
