Quarterhill should be studying Rekor

The time is likely to come before long when all or parts of Rekor can be bought out of Chapter 11. Possibly for very reasonable prices.

If you look at their Q2 numbers it's pretty easy to see that by the time Q3 is reported Rekor should be getting close to running out of cash--i.e., unable to make payroll.

It might be that there's nothing Rekor has that Quarterhill would want. Don't know.

I must say I'm perplexed and intrigued by the movements in Rekor shares over the past ten days or so. It closed at 90 cents ($US) on September 29 and then proceeded to go up on each of the following five trading days (on almost 2 million shares total) to close at $1.28. My first instinct is to dismiss the move as a crazy last gasp of a minor league meme stock. It certainly traded like a meme ...more

You know what would make things better for Quarterhill?  Instead of two businesses that lose significant money, overseen by a bloated corporate teams, what about THREE money losing operations! And how would shareholders feel with instead of 5 quarters of cash, after buying Rekor only having 2-3 quarters to turn three businesses around.   What Rekor shows is that ITS had no business ...more

VG, I totally agree there would be no logic in buying all or part of Rekor if it were to be just another money-losing operation. That's why I suggested buying all or part of it could only (possibly) make sense AFTER it goes into Chapter 11. So Conduent is highly profitable at scale? It sounds like there might be hope for Quarterhill ITS after all. And maybe simply extrapolating the weak Q2 ...more
