How will a meddling ownership group all of a sudden deliver overperformance?  Or more specific how will Edward Rogers be the boy wonder?  He kind of reminds me of the meddling owner of a sports franchise who picks his management group, meddles, fires, rinses and repeats.  A fitting analogy as Rogers owns the Blue Jays.

I wonder how many people will want to gravitate to a brand with a warring rich family?  Especially a meddling owner like Edward Rogers.

Lots if  there is MONEY to be made, who give's a @@@@ about the family, wouldnt supprise me if they are buying in to make more $$$$$

Don't forget as the risk premium goes up so does the transactional costs demanded by the money lenders and using a sagging RCI share price to finance the deal dilutes the pool of existing shareholders like you and I, not the Rogers family.

Not worried at all, This will easily be back in the low $60's within a couple months.

Who's worried?   The reality is there is a world of investing possibility beyond Rogers, a company whose performance has lagged its peers over the past 3 years.

Whoever controls the trust obviously controls the votes.  However this should not trump governance practices.

I was referring to myself, yes it has lagged and with the recent nonsense it is a huge buying oppertunity.

Even if you believe this, why would you ride this pony down 20% or more. The shares have dropped from 65 to 56 in the past few months, and are headed lower. I do not see a downside to having gotten out anywhere above 60 and then sit on the sidelines with your money elsewhere til this settles out. Buy and hold and not trying to time the market is one thing, but when a company clearly puts itself in ...more

If you purchased in the 60's that would be a problem....Just a guess, this may hit 55 then will start to rebound. Been scooping up while on sale and picked up more today,  going to sit tight now for a couple months and see how this plays out. Looking forward to min 10-15%

RayDonovan I actually bought Rogers in the low 30 in about 2014. Since 2018 then I have ridden it over 60/65 quite a few tiems and back into the low 50s more times than that. At $64 when they annouced massively overpaying for Shaw, I bailed. I have no desire to ride it back down one more time. Since 2018 this share has demonstrated no appreciation in the share price that it has been able to hold ...more

I don't intend on being an investor in RCI, just looking for a quick 10-15% gain which I believe is very doable in the short term. Next divy date is Dec 9 and probably cash out after that. Best of luck.
Comment by Shirtlessnomore on Oct 26, 2021 7:13pm
Quite frankly you'd be better off cashing out right BEFORE that. pre ex date will likely push the s.p. up.
