I can't find any info on protests in Warints, only around Quito and surrounding provinces.  Looks to me the price drop might be more to do with cu dropping along with the protests which are more related to fuel/food increases as opposed to anti mining.  If you have other info we'd all appreciate sharing it.

Don't make me laugh, IKN is a bullshit loser outfit and always has been, no credibility whatsoever. Solaris has good local and country relationships because they have earned it and worked to create a good environment. South America has always had a few people who create issues with no skin in the game who are political malcontents or terrorists. Just noise and little concern.
